Replacement power supply

Post by callebalik » Thu Aug 13, 2020 12:01 pm

Hi,

Does anyone know of where I can buy a replacement power cable for an NTSC-U SNES? Looking for one with a EU plug that can handle 220V input.

Retro Game Supply have them listed but don’t have them in stock and they are not answering emails.
OtakuStore also have them listed but their website is really weird. Seems like there is no way to add them to cart or even check out... Also not answering emails.

Btw, does the US NES and the US SNES share the same power requirements? Same input plug?

Cheers,
// C

You can just use an universal power adapter like this: https://www.amazon.de/Goobay-59032-Univ ... 075MW2MW7/
My current setup:
Super Famicom ("2/1/3" SNS-CPU-GPM-02) → SCART → OSSC → StarTech USB3HDCAP → AmaRecTV 3.10

Different plugs.
SNS-002 provides 10VDC center negative 850mA.
NES-002 provides 9VAC 1.3A, but NES-001 will work fine on 7VDC either polarity at 700mA.

The US NES power input is very tolerant, taking DC of either polarity, 7V~12V, and (at least over here) the barrel connector is the most common size/style. The US SNES on the other hand, has a barrel connector style that I've never seen anywhere else.

Thank you for all the replies! Retro Game Supply finally answered and said they will have them back in stock in about a month.

One more thing though, the SNES and the SNES jr must use the same power supply right?

Cheers,
