Currently the iNES mapper pages simply link to a small page saying "this mapper number refers to this board name and uses this mapper" and you have to click on a link to the board name or the mapper name to actually get register descriptions and information.

Would anyone object if I just skipped all that? Would it be horrible if I started adding mapper information directly on the iNES mapper number pages for new mapper numbers? Would that be something easy to change in the future if it turns out to be no good? (I don't have a lot of experience with wiki software so I don't really know)

The only time you link to another page like that is if it already exists. For stuff that only exists as an iNES mapper (like mapper 15), just put it straight in that page.
