These are just a few "screenshots" from my nes project. As you can see it's ending up more as an homage to Blaster Master than anything else. It turned out this way mostly because I like the tank/atv sprites a lot more than the character sprites I had going. There are even large parts of the game map you can only get to by exiting the vehicle, as an 8x16 sprite that looks a lot like Jason.

Next on the trademark court docket: Microsoft v. MausBoy. Allegation: Infringement of trademark "HALO" for video games.

Sheesh that makes for a long intro sequence!

Any time you have a long intro sequence, it's best to involve the player in the action somehow. Otherwise, you have a movie, not a game *cough* PS1/PS2 Final Fantasy *cough* PS2 Metal Gear Solid *cough*.

Not just 10 minutes of doing nothing which is bad enough, its 10 minutes of doing nothing with bad directions.

I always liked the long intros and cinema senquences in nes games when I was a kid. I used to make my own on my apple IIe when I was really really bored. I still have a vhs of most of them, but the disks are long gone. So naturally this game has plenty of those. I don't think they take away from the game at all. (and there is always just pushing Start)
