Cat Killer demo

Post by never-obsolete »

here's a demo of a clone of Roden't Revenge. I need to polish up a few things, but it's pretty close to finished (except for music/sound).

If you play it on an emulator with a keyboard, you might have problems moving diagonally.

edit: Assembles with asm6.

I like it! The only thing I can think of (other than obviously needs music/sounds) is I think that the Game Over screen should stay on longer or should require hitting a button to close it. It seems like you kind of have to hurry and read all the stats before it closes. Other than that, great job!

Is it possible for cats to spawn on top of or very near (1 square away) the mouse? I was once killed by a cat that seemed to appear directly on top of me.

Other than that, really, really nice game. I used to love this as a kid.

That is something that will be corrected in the final. Same goes for the yarn, they sometimes spawn on top of unpassable blocks. Blocks can also be pushed into them, which is not how it should be. :)

sounds good

Very nice! Although I had cat trapped on the edge of the screen and he didn't turn into cheese. I just formed a U-shaped set of green blocks up on the wall with him in the middle.

cool game. I played this a ton on my old desktop. everything looks like it's in the right place.

jon you have to block all the cats currently in the game and they all turn into cheese at the same time otherwise they'll just sit until you release them or trap the rest. unless there's a bug I didn't catch, I played into the second level here.

Nevermind then, I tried it again and it was fine. I wasn't looking for a second cat on the second level.

I only had a chance to play a few minutes and it seems nice. It just I don't know that game so I didn't know the rules on how to play. I will try it again once I can find some time.
