Has anyone tried to do a NES programm with the WLA-DX assembler ? Is it better or worse than CA65 ? I personnaly found that both looks really great, and I'm too lazy to compare two 64 pages doccumentation right now ;-) I guess WLA-DX has the strong point to be compatible with near-every old game machines, so you can change the hardware and using the same assembler.

wladx rocks but I don't use CA65. I have used nesasm and table asm as well.

Yeah, it seems very good, but Memblers&cie always talk about CA65 and never about Wla-dx. I used NESAsm before, but I decided to switch because it doesn't have enough feathures.

wla-dx looks pretty nice, I never talked about it since I haven't used it much (just to assemble/modify some simple SNES test code). It probably would be a good choice if one wants to work with several of it's supported CPUs, if you're annoyed by differences between assemblers.

TASM (I think the same one wombatone mentioned) is pretty decent, I used it only for SPC-700 (SNES sound CPU). Maybe kinda primitive compared to the new ones (no relocatable code/data for example) but hey, it'll let you create your own instruction set if you want. :D

Yes, I am. I hate reading 650'000 page doccumentation for every assembler that have only a few syntax differences. For now I've only done NES dev, but I'll surely do SNES dev and GBA dev someday, and that would be cool to have the same assembly syntax.
But I never see any demo coded with this assembler.

There is an assembler able to assemble SPC700 code ? The only few SPC code I've done was with a hex editor, and it was very unconfortable so I stopped it.
