None that I know of, at least I haven't found any with symbolic debugging or a decent command prompt yet.
Most emulators do offer a basic debugger though, so debugging is not completely hopeless, though I most of them seem better suited for tracing through existing ROMs than bugfixing.

Sooner or later I'll try adding a decent debugger for development purposes to some popular emulator. After all, they're not *that* hard to write.

The odd thing is that every other SMS emulator seems to offer such a debugger. So you'd think that someone would write one for the purpose of matching the SMS development scene if nothing else..

Doynax: You could always add a couple more letters to FCEUXD SP. I seem to remember Zophar.net issuing a challenge to fill up the alphabet with versions of FCE Ultra that add more debugging features.

Actually, it has most features I want already. Unfortunately it's more than a little awkvard to use without a command shell.
I think I'll take a look at it when I'm done with my current project..

In that case, I know what your new letters will be: VI for Visual Interface.

Ehh? It's the visual interface I'm trying to move away from..
KI for keyboard interface perhaps? It's a bit hard to come up with letters that aren't already taken ;)
