Been getting this error with 0.30 too, nothing I can do will get past this problem. Even if the path is simple like E:\mapedproj it will throw the error.

Re: Tool: MapEd Pro
I uploaded version 0.32.0 that should fix that problem (and a few others). The biggest change from the previous version is support for a custom mapper. The readme has a list of additions/changes/bug fixes.
There is a known issue with drawing animation frames that use signed X/Y values, but it is entirely cosmetic. I just haven't sat down and fixed it.

Re: Tool: MapEd Pro
I get an error on win10 64bit saying that the MSCOMCTL32.OCX file included is missing or invalid, Where can I find it???
Edit: Nevermind: It's included, Just have to have administrative privlages to access the prompt and force things to work properly!!!

Re: Tool: MapEd Pro
I fixed a new bug I introduced, so I'd recommend re-downloading the file.
Re: Tool: MapEd Pro
Thanks, done
There's a minor one that I noticed: when leaving the metatile editor and going back to the map editor, the new metatiles aren't shown in the metatile picker. Only when I click the map on the maps list does it refresh. One can get used to that, but I was puzzled for a while hehe.
Anyway, loving the update!

First off, its insane that you guys have a thread going for 10 years, and literally 3 years between some replies HAHA :0
Second, I get this error on startup when running the v0320 exe.
Edit: I see you mention this in the readme. I guess it's something I need to find myself. Nevermind.

Re: Tool: MapEd Pro
I'll look into this. What size of metatiles do you happen to be using?
Were you able to get this resolved? The needed DLLs are included in the zip. Some people just had to have them in the same directory, others have said they needed to register them using regsvr32 (as an administrator in Win10). This program is a fork/merger of two even older programs and definitely shows its age. I have been slowly building a modern replacement, but its very low priority at the moment.
Re: Tool: MapEd Pro
2x2. The same happens if I edit a palette, the metatiles will only be updated with that palette once I click on the map in the list of maps.never-obsolete wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 9:35 amI'll look into this. What size of metatiles do you happen to be using?

I have been interested in this application for a long time, but without any example file, I am not able to understand how it is used, could someone who is already using it share a project made with this software, or at least collaborate with a brief explanation how should it be configured? Sorry for the inconvenience
Re: Tool: MapEd Pro
The program is very fiddly to set up. You need to create each of the blank assets one by one in order or else it crashes. Once you've done all that it gets easier.Terwilf wrote: ↑Fri Feb 12, 2021 4:07 pmI have been interested in this application for a long time, but without any example file, I am not able to understand how it is used, could someone who is already using it share a project made with this software, or at least collaborate with a brief explanation how should it be configured? Re: Tool: MapEd Pro
Creating a new project is definitely problematic at times and the workflow is not always clear. Especially with a lack of documentation.
I can post an example project when I get home later today.

Re: Tool: MapEd Pro
In making this example, I fixed quite a few bugs.
There is an obvious* one in the current version when background tiles are set to use $1000. In the metatile editor, when you click on a tile to edit it, it will always draw from $0000. It does show the correct tile when building metatiles and in the tilemap editor. In the mean time, you can open the "Tiles" editor that shows the entire contents of CHR or use an external editor.
Here in the near future I'll post an update with all the fixes and other things that have been added.
*not so obvious to me, since my projects have backgrounds in $0000
