The goal wasn't to have a re-assemblable source code, but to have a readable and understandible way to know how the game internally works. If you really wannt to reassemble it, you'll most probably have to do tons of modifications, depending on wich errors your assembler says.

I thought I remember one of the members here mentioning that they built a disassembler with the specific goal of producing re-assembleable code. Anyone remember who that was/which disassembler it was? Or if they ever got it to work?

It was probably me. I got the disassembler to work just fine: it even disassembles games that use mappers other than 0. You may need to perform some trivial modifications to the sources in order to assemble the them. You can download the program from my homepage.

Impressive work. I will have to play around with this one. It would be interesting to combine such a thing with a NES source to SNES ROM assembler.
