CaptureBoy - Capturing the Gameboy video signal on a PC

Post by snesy »

After a stay in Japan for about 1 year I decided to start a new project. Since the idea to build VGA converters for the Gameboy got viral, I just wanted to do something different. The project is called CaptureBoy and it drives the Gameboy video signal into a PC. Since I started only 3 days ago there are still some problems left, so please don't blame me for anything at the moment. For example the framerate is still very poor and there is a lag. I think that I'm still not able to use higher baudrates because of a buggy clockspeed that drives the UART, but I'll try to fix it soon.

Here is a first video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tvl2csqM ... KTOsDOpN3g

The whole project is based on a standard FPGA board and I don't see any reason for custom boards or is there any interest?
