I invented GameBoy game called stroker.gb it is similar to game called StroQ.

Instructions:
  • Level numbers are in octal
  • Push A and B and SELECT to set level number
  • Push START to begin
  • Push direction move cursor to start position
  • Push A button for A point
  • Push direction move cursor
  • Each square you can step only once, it flips black/white when stepped
  • Push B button for B point
  • If you make all lines solid black and/or solid white, it is flashy and you win
  • The borders are shaded and are irrelevent to black/white line
  • Push START to restart this level
  • Push SELECT to select a different level
  • To run on real GameBoy, you need to correct the header yourself
  • Please tell me in case the game broke.

Any relation to the old C64 game called Stroker (nsfw)?

Absolutely no relation (as far as I know). (To tell the difference, call my program always "stroker.gb" (and without capitalizing it).)

Fail! You seem to be doing everything you can to make sure the game doesn't run on real hardware. Invalid header values and invalid VRAM accesses. Use BGB for debugging instead...

And why the "complicated" controls? Why not just make A start the trail, and automatic win condition if all tiles are the same color, and the cursor is going to a grey tile?

Well, I don't have a GameBoy, so I made some mistakes. I currently have no intention to continue writing any game on GameBoy, although in future I might, and if I do I may try to fix it.

It is true the header is invalid, but anyone who wants to run on real hardware can correct the header themself. All the other problems is mistakes I have made because it is the first (and only) GameBoy program I have written and I did it wrong because I don't know it very well.

It is my intention that with the header corrected it will run on real hardware; but, I did it wrong sorry it won't work. I might fix it, and even if I don't, it is public domain you are free to do what you want with it I don't care.
