I just found this message board and noticed that the gameboy section was a ghost town. I have also posted on the nintendoage forums and they said that the fanbase is very small due to the gba. I am worried that if i start developing my own game that it will go downhill due to little or no support. Any assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Green Plague Galore

What do you mean downhill or little support exactly? In the past the Gameboy had quite a bit of resources available for programming homebrew. There is no reason there would be less of that now. If you want to make a Gameboy game, do it. While there isn't a ton of activity in this forum it certainly isn't ignored. If you have questions someone will try their best to answer or point you in the direction of the answers.

Other than perhaps fewer people still having working flash cards and writers? A lot of the community went to the GBA for several reasons:
  1. The GBA's CPU is more friendly to the abstractions of C.
  2. People were already buying GBA flash cards to make their own no-repeat 100-in-1 pirate multis in PocketNES.
  3. It took until the GBA era for the Chinese flash card market to figure out the whack-a-mole pattern. Once Bung got whacked, GBC homebrew kind of died. But once Visoly got whacked, three more popped up (F2A, EZ-Flash, and EFA-Linker).

I'm always looking for games to put on my EZ-Flash IV.

Every time I find a game I think is GameBoy, but isn't, I get disappoint. :(

Not that I have anything against PC games that look like GB/NES games.
