Neo Geo AES controller port replacement?

Post by Markfrizb »

Hey all,

I have an AES where someone soldered wires to all the pins of the controller ports (ruining them). No idea why they did this. Does anyone know if this connector is available thru part houses like digikey?

Lastly, I need a power brick for it. I'm looking for one of these too.

Thanks!

Aliexpress seems to have extension cables for that, so at least you could cannibalize those.

It should just be a standard DB9 connector like the Atari 2600 and the Genesis, correct?

it is 15pin, and connectors are deep, meaning regular plugs won't fit the socket but if socket was replaced (what I did to my MVS) there are no obstacles with standard parts.

Those connectors should fit Famicom expansion port too, BTW. It's nice to see that those are available again. Last time I checked (which was several years ago), they were like $20 on ebay, and out of stock everywhere else they were listed.
