The third one from the bottom is ugly af, and the second one from the bottom isn't bad, but it's not good either; it looks like an NES game with more shades but the same number of hues.

I think one of them is US, the rest I'm pretty sure is European. I was talking about western games in general though. These are just examples, so your mileage may vary, obviously, but there are tons more to take from. Whether you like them or not, I definitely found that western developers at the time tended to focus more on graphics than gameplay.
