Was the Nintendo DSi a flop?

Post by Trash_Bandatcoot » Sun Nov 10, 2019 8:23 am

Just wondering, was the DSi a failure? I own 2 of them, but the DSi was quickly overshadowed by the announcement of the 3DS only a year later from the DSi's North American release. And even now, nobody seems to give a crap about the DSi, with only small parts of the system archived and documented.

Just curious what other people think.

I am seeing the DSi as a test run for the 3DS hardware (or the 3DS being a DSi with some extra gimmicks). From that point of view, it was probably much more successful than most people think, even if it didn't get much attention.

I was only interested in a DSi for Shantae: Risky's Revenge, but ended up just waiting until the New 3DS came out and got that instead. (yes, this was 2015 [I'm behind in life :|])

Also, I heard most/all of the augmented reality games sucked or something? :?
