sup mates!!!
thanks a lot for this nice information about FC/NES. this is a great site. indeed!

well... the subject:

i got another nice box of "brand new" famiclone carts from argentina!!
yeah!! cartridges from 90s and totally untouched!!!

Image

as you can see, i have:
-10+ SUPER C 20 IN 1. menu is just for weapons (TLROM)
-30+ TOPGUN (UNROM)
-a few gradius2 (fuk... all games are broken from factory...the ship dies randomly without any reason... maybe imperfect mapper?)
-40+ TMNT (SLROM)

i have no problems doing modifications for TLROM board:

a few ugly wires for UNROM games. not bad

Duck Tales.

ugly wires again. works good

this is the deal:

-SLROM boards are 28pin based, so, ICs increases the phisycal size to the left.
-UNFORTUNATELY the board is hooked by 3 plastic pillars from the plastic case, the CHR IC obstructs the hole for the main pillar.

Image

does exist any chance to buy these IC types?

P.S (another dumb question)
exists chance to do a UOROM wiring for these TOPGUN boards?
WAWAWAWAWAIT....i am not interested in BKid.... i want to write a "contra, revenge of the red falcom" cart.
it would be nice if wiring works only for contra and not for battlekid... i love 90s games, and this mod is awesome!!
so, if you think this las message is against rules, please ignore it or send pm in order to edit message if neccesary.

28 pins are enough for a read-only 128KB chip, but not a writable one. Think about it: 8 data lines (D0-D7), 17 address lines (A0-A16), 1 GND, 1 Vcc, and 1 chip enable. That's 28 pins. If a chip is read-only, enabling it always means reading from it. A writable chip, however, needs at least one more pin, to indicate write operations, so 28 pins are just not enough.

While it could exist (see also the 8 KiB 24-pin UVEPROM MCM68764, where one pin is both 0V=/OE and 12V=PGM), no-one seems to have ever made a 128 KiB 28-pin one.

That's so expensive I have to suspect either
1- if someone's willing to pay that much they'll figure out how to get them at that point, or
2- they're taking existing ROMs and repackaging them somehow

(N.B. 150 ARS ≈ 11 USD, not actually that expensive)
