Re: Crisis force. Vrc4 ram issue?

Post by guitarzombie »

Well update, Im sure it was the 6116 ram I was using...

So I got a MB8416 200ns. Shouldn't be an issue cuz I saw some games used PRAM up to 200ns... and it doesnt work.

I think I needed MB8416A... ugh. So uh, yeah.

I have no idea what this subject was about, but indeed 6116 RAM (without any other markings) might be slow enough to cause troubles when placed as VRAM.

It was used as VRAM in one of my FAmiclones. This console was running all games correctly except one game - Doki Doki Yuuenchi - this game has CHR-ROM. The graphics was totally garbled, just like there was continous bus conflict. When I switched VRAM with WRAM in the console (WRAM was from different manufacturer), all problems were solved. So this 6116 could be too slow to turn off in proper time.
