I have an nes copy of faxanadu and a famicom copy of faxanadu. Can i swap the internal chips to make the famicom version english?

Are the mmc3a and b pcbs compatable for a swap? Anyone ever done this?

Both games are pretty cheap and common, just wanting to know if this can be done or not.

Thanks!

I'm pretty certain that should work.

Faxanadu is CHR-RAM so you don't even need to swap the CHR part, only PRG.

You could use a regular EPROM though with a little bit of rewiring, instead of taking the mask ROM from another cartridge.
