Yes, it does. However, I checked my ROM and it's the same as yours.

Translation v2.00 by Spinner 8 and friends
MMC3 Patch v1.20 by MottZilla

@FrankWDoom What's v1.2a by MottZilla?

Ok, so when I get my Hakko nozzles tomorrow I'm going at this again, with hopefully the correct ROM!

I tried using my Game Genie as instructed by Motzilla and that solves the issue for the time being, so this definitely has to be the issue!

The ROM you're using should be correct.
I just download the MMC3 patch and translation again to verify.

Got clean Splatterhouse ROM
Applied MottZilla's MMC3 patch
Applied Spinner 8's translation
Fixed byte x1E248 from C0 to A0

Final result:
prg: 34DC5928
chr: 5526022F
data: 2F52E8B7
file: F07092C6

In cases like this it's always useful to have a cartridge dumper to compare the files afterwards.

1.2a is the 1.2 patch + bugfix. I named it that to differentiate for myself.

The mmc3 patch copies and rearranges a large chunk of the chr. If you're applying translation after, its not hitting anything above 128k chr. Translation should be first, then mmc3.

This may end up being incompatible either way if the translation and mmc3 patch both change a given chr bank write

Doing the English patch first changes the CHR. Now I get:

prg: 34DC5928
chr: 06356E20
data: 7C4184B8
file: A363FEC9

So I should just stick with this one with translation applied first then MMC3?

Ok. Thanks so much for you help. I'll post my results tomorrow! I can't thank you enough for finding this. Wish he had included this on his romhacking.net page. I didn't see it in there.

Thanks Frank. I actually didn't check if the CHR was messed up or not after doing it the way I described.
Now I applied the translation first, then MottZilla's MMC3 patch and everything is fine on my end, too.

Having the same CRC as Izen6 now:
prg: 34DC5928
chr: 06356E20
data: 7C4184B8
file: A363FEC9

Also noticed it because when entering the 2nd level the graphcis were garbled in the intro.
Now it's not the case anymore. :)

I can, FINALLY, confirm that it is now working. Changing the hex was definitely the fix. Applied the translation first and then MMC3 as well. FrankWDoom, thank you so much for figuring this out! Had no idea about the bug since he only put it on his smaller site. I was really going crazy doubting everything I was doing. Thanks for making me not feel crazy!

Ice Man, thank you as well!

Now it's time to enjoy this awesome game!

Glad its working for everyone. I put together a cart for myself (untranslated) to verify I'm not an idiot. And its looking good so far.
