From what i got from googling and this site, i need an eprom programmer, blank eproms and some soldering skills. Can anyone help me with this. please be aware i am not a programmer by any means.

First off, Thanks for plugging my site lol =) Next, it appear's that one would work. I personally use a Willem PCB3, it works really well.

As far as eprom's, you would need 27c64, 27c256, 27c010, 27c020, 27c040 depending on the game's you wish to recreate.

thanks for the help! yea, i ordered a tecmo superbowl updated roster from you recently and was impressed. i found this and it seems somewhat understandable for a newbie:

http://www.planetnintendo.com/thewarpzo ... ROMdev.txt

what sucks is that it says it will not fit in an unmodified cartridge or nes.

but i do have a few questions, such as how do you know what eproms to use with each game?

what does UNROM mean?

Thanks

6. 28 pin IC socket - used for holding chips. (<$1)
7. 32 pin IC socket - used for holding chips. (<$1)

Those are why they would have to be used in a modified NES =)

Use a program called CajoNES...run that on your rom and hit F7 to split them into prg/chr files. Those file size's determine which eprom you use, just compare the sizes to the eproms.

UNROM is the type of board that that game would use.

ok, so i am starting to understand how this works. I got the cajoNES, and used the program on a rom and it was 128k.

now, how do i find out which nes carts are 128k, 64k or 256k?

also, which eproms do i use for the different size carts? before you mentioned:

"As far as eprom's, you would need 27c64, 27c256, 27c010, 27c020, 27c040 depending on the game's you wish to recreate."

i assume the 27c64 is for 64k and 27c256 is for 256, but what about the other two?

thanks again
