Re: Help needed: Rockman 6-in-1 multicart hardware
recently i got my 27c322 chip and wanted to start to build my own cart, but then i noticed that my latch and switch are 74ls4053 and 74ls174. i did some research if the fact that both chips are from the ls family would work out with the project. i read that the reaction time of ls chips are lower than the one of hc chips. is this in any way bad if the chips are working at lower speed?
i ask because before i start soldering everything together i would like to know if everything is also working without any issues.
thanks in advance:)

Re: Help needed: Rockman 6-in-1 multicart hardware
There are other NES carts that use the LS series. It should be ok.

thanks MottZilla:)
i will try it

Use breadboard or at least use IC socket, don't solder the chips directly to the PCB.
Also be careful with 27C322.
What programmer do you use for programming 27C322?
You must program it in 27C080 (8bit) mode two times :
First Half : A20 --> GND
Second Half : A20 --> +5v
The best way is to program it on a breadboard and wire Zif socket to breadboard manually.
Also ignore D8~D15 (Q8~Q15) completely as if they don't exist!

@FARID:
thanks for the tip.
I use willem pcb3.5, i will try it out.

Re: Help needed: Rockman 6-in-1 multicart hardware
After i got the time to work on this i am facing a problem:
When i programmed the 27C322 in 8bit mode with 27C080 settings, all i get is scrambled data from the eprom when i verify the content of it. I tripple checked all my connections of the adapter i built myself and they actually match the pinout of a 27C080 and there are no shorts. I can not figure it out what the problem is.
everything works fine when i program my flash chips, eproms and eeproms (i used all kinds upto 4mbits) in 8bit mode.
May there be an issue with voltage? I am using 5V fron USB as i do not know which adapter is used by willem pcb3 board to get myself one.

Re: Help needed: Rockman 6-in-1 multicart hardware
Yes, they are good enough, you can use them.gorgyrip wrote:Hi

Re: Help needed: Rockman 6-in-1 multicart hardware
Thank you. Everything it's connected. 4053 will arrive in about a week and i still need to find a 1nf cap.FARID wrote:Yes, they are good enough, you can use them.gorgyrip wrote:Hi

1nF(102) ceramic capacitor is really easy to find everywhere :gorgyrip wrote:Thank you. Everything it's connected. 4053 will arrive in about a week and i still need to find a 1nf cap.FARID wrote:Yes, they are good enough, you can use them.gorgyrip wrote:Hi

I know the code, but i can't seem to find it at my local store.FARID wrote:

Re: Help needed: Rockman 6-in-1 multicart hardware
Today i received the 4053 and i also found a 1nf cap (in a jamma bootleg board).
I used megaman USA roms. For megaman 1 and 2 i used this patches to convert them to mmc3:
http://acmlm.kafuka.org/board/thread.php?id=7357
megaman 3 chr it's only 128k
megaman 1 prg it's only 128k
I dubbled both.
Megaman 4,5,6 works fine, but megaman 1 and 2 have huge glitches.
If i start megaman 3, press reset and select megaman1, the game has less glitches.
If i start megaman 4,5 or 6, press reset and select megaman1, the game works.
How can i fix this?
And pins 14 and 15 of 74174 and pin 7 of 4053 should i leave unconnected?

Re: Help needed: Rockman 6-in-1 multicart hardware
Pins 14 and 15 of 74174 --> Leave them floating
pin 7 of 4053 --> Tie it to GND
pin 7 of 4053 --> Tie it to GND
Re: Help needed: Rockman 6-in-1 multicart hardware
Pin 7 connected to GND, nothing changed.
I know this is the first thing i should have done, but... Anyway, I tested the patched megaman 1 and 2 roms on a tgrom board and i get the same glitches.
But why do they work on a multicart if i first start megaman 4?
Can you please look at the patches?
