Hidden in every Nintendo Switch is a NES emulator, and "Golf" game.

Neat find! Sounds like an easter egg that's yet to be found (without hacking).

Could be!

From that article, it sounds like the virtual console feature will be i a bit like netflix. Pay a subscription; temp-download a rotating set of ROMs.

But then "flog" is a permanently installed ROM.

It turns out it was an easter egg dedicated to the late Mr Iwata. Golf was programmed by him.

You set date to July 11 (the date he passed away) and do the "chokusetsu!" Iwata-gesture with the Joycon. But it turns out that once you have synchrod your time on the internet, the setting can't be changed anymore, so it's only possible to do while your Switch is new and has never been on the internet. But I guess it will work once a year every July 11 on all Switches.
