I disagree. The Famicom 4 Players adapter value should only be set if the game uses the device to provide independent Player 3 and Player 4 input. P3 and P4 doubling as P1 and P2 provides no additional functionality to emulator users, authors and ROM hack makers. The justification for this proposal was to make emulation more user-, emulator- and ROM-hack-friendly. It's not supposed to document anything about the games for documentation's sake alone. That's what the metadata text file proposal was for.

Well, it does kind of provide a way to hit Left+Right at the same time on a Japanese console....
