NES Accuracy Tests

Post by Shiru »

Can't find if the NES Accuracy Tests from TASVideo were discussed here. An interesting thing that by the results, the best so far is a recently released emulator called Bizhawk, that also was never discussed on the NesDev, as it seems.

The tvpassfail row in that table shows that only hardware and nesemu1 pass. I wonder why Nestopia doesn't, seeing as it has an NTSC filter. But then someone brought up to me elsewhere that TASVideos doesn't really need to be running tvpassfail if it isn't going to use the NTSC filter or the correct NES/PlayChoice pixel aspect ratio in its videos. Even if it doesn't use the NTSC filter, it should at least scale videos of platforms with TMS9918 pixel rates (CV, MSX, NES, SNES, MD in 256px mode) to 292x240 (or pad to 280x240 then scale to 320x240).
