I don't understand why you'd use the word Genesis unless you are specifically talking about an American version, maybe that's what threw mew off ;)

The elusive Mega Drive game with a soundtrack by Phil Collins and his band perhaps? Is the player driving a high-end Hyundai to the theatre to watch a play about the story of Abraham?

@Tepples: I think this Genesis is a bit too new... But maybe we can hack OutRun to change its music, the car and the history. :-)
Or we can make a game where you create and manage a world and its inhabitants.
But I think a game like this already exists...

By the way, seems like Sunset Riders only got an Arcade release in the land of rising sun.
Is the "western" genre popular in Japan?

@Sumez

Well, when I played it, it was the North American version and I was using the Genesis. Now in Japan I have a mega drive but used to call it Genesis out of habit ^^;;

@Fisher
As for western game, there is one made by natsume on the snes, Wild guns, and it is such a rare game that it cost of fortune to get (in Japan).

Not really, no.

A good example of this is "Trigun" which was a commercial failure in Japan, but really took off in the West. Such a thing is nearly unheard of!

Not to mention the game that inspired it, Blood Bros. I'm actually a bigger fan of that game, really a ton of fun.

Gun.Smoke is another big one.

I remember Bonanza Bros.
Maybe someone could add a Super on it's name? :)
