God Mode No Holes No Timer No Damage SMB Hack

I just spent a week learning 6502 asm and used FCEUX and a Hex editor to create a SMB1 ROM hack where you are always fiery, cant fall in holes, cant time out and cant be hurt. I created the ips file for it. Anywere on NesDev to post such things

You can attach an IPS file to a post on this forum (you can edit your post above to add it), but I feel like something like that might fit well at romhacking.net? They've got forums where stuff like this is discussed a lot, and a big repository of patches.

NESdev is more about development and stuff than ROMhacking, but people might be interested anyway.

Level 4-4 - when you fall into hole and land on top of, you can't finish it because the map loops.
Even if you jump and you appear at the bottom, returning to the "inside", you still can't finish it.

By just removing the timer, you make it possible to softlock the game in several places, including when jumping over the flag and running too far. It's tough being an immortal god.

I remember once in a castle level where I jumped on the wired lifts and got up above the ceiling and ran all the way up to Bowser. Because I couldn't finish the level from up there and SMB can't scroll backwards there was nothing else to do but wait for the timer to run out. It didn't loop though, I was just stuck at the screen with Koopa and couldn't go in either direction. It's possible it was the Super Mario Allstars version though.

If softlocking is a problem you could just make SELECT restart from the checkpoint or something?

That was probably 7-4 of "Lost Levels" - I don't think it can be done in SMB1.
