Hi Gents,

Could I kindly request some clarification or first hand experience regarding the below, I have asked Jian from buyicnow.com but not getting anywhere. Long story short I have a TL866 with the Tsop40A adapter and its giving me loads of errors and problems so I am looking for alternative ways to program my MBM29F033C-90PTN, 29F032B, and 29F016B tsop40 chips

OK so, I have purchased the below adapter with the intention of using with MBM29F033C-90PTN, 29F032B, and 29F016B Tsop40's
SOP Adapter III
http://www.buyicnow.com/it.php?i=396
Q1: Looking at the pictures for the use with 29F016B, there appears to be a solder bridge of some kind on R3, is this required to program/operate the 29F016B only?

I am planning to purchase a GQ-4X which is a Willem cos of my issues with the TL866/Tsop40A combo

Q2: They have a Willem programmer board available, which would I need to use in order to program the chips on the SOP adapter board III as they have 3 types of "DIP40-DIP36 Programmer Adapters"?
How is this connected or wired in order to program?

Q3: I also have a TSOP-willem board from https://oshpark.com/shared_projects/Et6HIToH can I use this instead with the SOP Adapter III?

Q4: What would be the easiest way to program a SOP Adapter III myself?

Q5: Is there a way to program SOP Adapter III on a TL866CS?

Thanks
MS

TSOP40A+TL866 works perfectly fine for me. Never had any problems. Bad chip contacts? Proper socket/direction?

A1: R3 is not required and can be left open.

A2: The Type III boards have the identical pinout like a 36 pins SNES MaskROM and needs an addtional adapter to program them on that board directly. If needed, PM me for me info (for TL866).
For GQ-4X programmer need another adapter (DIP40-DIP36 Programmer Adapter I
): http://www.buyicnow.com/it.php?i=1006
This is what I use personally, works the same like a custom TL866 adapter that I have.
Though I prefer TL866 for 29F016/29F032/29F033 TSOP IC.

A3: That it just an additional adapter to program the Type III boards with onboard soldered ICs on old Willem programmer, maybe GQ-4X, too.

A4: TSOP40A Adapter + TL866. Most reliable.

A5: TL866CS / TL866A do not differ from programming. Just an additional ICSP slot. For programming, see A2.

can you show me the pin out for your custom tl866 adapter to the type iii board? I have a dip40 board I can modify with a zif 40 plug manually would like to try to program via tl866
i saw something on ashpark here https://oshpark.com/shared_projects/0AmrmSH8 but it refers to both programmers?
I have a tsop40a and it writes to the IC but after soldering to type iii and mounting in pcb to get nothing, would be good to have ability to write post soldering.

Yes, that's the correct adapter. Mine uses the same pinout.
