Why do roms on the powerpak eventually go bad header/glitch

Post by Doomberg »

Just wondering if anyone knows why this happens, is it from swaping back and forth between powerpak to pc, or from a file being copied to much? had ghost and goblins for Nes on there worked fine, about a month later I go to check it and it runs but its all glitched out. I know you can fix it with hex editor and stuff but I thought if I could understand why it happens I could find a way to prevent it. Also it was not the placement of the cart in the system as I had checked that.

thanks guys

I've not encountered this problem myself. This sounds more like a problem with the CF card itself, than with the PowerPak.

At least your powerpak is still somewhat functionning. My NES powerpak had its case break in pieces and my SNES powerpak just does a black screen.
And that before I could even complete a single game for either system.

I haven't used my PowerPak in ages... Hopefully it isn't as susceptible to problems as you're claiming it is, and this is just bad luck.

I still don't see why any of this would be the PowerPak's fault, as opposed to the CF card.

You should try scanning or reformatting your CF card to uncover bad sectors.
