Mapper 36 / TXC 01-22000-400 writeup

Post by lidnariq »

Werrock decided he wanted to send me a copy of Policeman as thanks for helping him dump it, so I sat down with some test clips and a simple cart-swappable test program and I think I have an accurate model of what it's doing, which I've written up on the wiki.

I've noticed some vestigial code in the 1.0 release of F15 City War that's clearly writing to a similar ASIC, but since that game doesn't use it, it's hard to extrapolate anything. At some point I may desolder the IC and do some tests pertaining to the unused pins when it's connected to a more versatile test bed.

As a side note, Strike Wolf was not published by Gluk Video (I'm the creator of glukvideo.info) it's only named because it's the name given to the mapper on some emulators, maybe I'll have to rename it on the page :)
Great work by the way!
Also, i've given Gluk Video dumps to no-intro of every Gluk game except "volleyball" and "adan y eva".
