Japan 126/127 chip

Post by Purity »

Some of the Nintendo arcade hardware uses chips labelled "Japan 126" and "Japan 127". I was wondering if these were ever used in consumer cartridges for the NES or Famicom? Anyone got any info?

Those are copy protection ICs for specific Namco Vs. System games. I believe nothing else uses them.

user "lupin3rd" has a copy of Vs. RBI Baseball, which is what uses the 127. They did a simple test for me over here.
