noob question - 28 pin Winbond W27C512-70 compatible?

So i went looking through my junk in the garage and I have a boatload of old cable modems, each one has M27C801 CMOS chip, these have the UV window, looking them up they appear to be 8M chips,

Would these make some good chips for dev carts? =)

Hmm apparently the top 2007 programmer is a pos according to reviews i've been reading. Galep 4 or willem appear to be good.

got a willem programmer rev 5 and the W27C512-70 chips are erasable and reprogrammable for anyone future reference

they are 512 chips 64 X 8
