Dance games on the NES

Post by zeroone »

The unlicenced dance games, such as Kang Ti Wu Wang.7z, require impossible inputs to function (i.e left+right or up+down). Was there actually a dance pad input device created for these games?

During the DDR fad, many unlicensed dance pads had a built-in famiclone for "no console needed" functionality. But I'm waiting until 2019 to make a similar game because patents.

Were they designed to work with the official Family Trainer Mat / Power Pad inputs?

I think many were designed for a DDR layout (3 wide by 4 deep instead of the Power Pad's 4 wide by 3 deep) and only 8 sensors in standard controller button order.

Code: Select all

3 4
2 5 1
7 8
  6
