Maybe because it's midnight in my timezone and I'm too sleepy?rainwarrior wrote:Why do you misspell your own URL at the start of the video?
You're right, I'm gonna correct it. Thank you!

Someone re-made the whole game in java:
http://meatfighter.com/jackal/
There is a link to the source as well on that page.

Re: JACKAL (NES ver.) Level 1 Remake
I always liked the first level music of this game. It's nice seeing Jackal get this treatment.
Does a project like this fall within Indiegogo's Terms of Use?
I'm genuinely confused by the purpose of this post. One is made in Java. The other is Unity.hackfresh wrote:Someone re-made the whole game in java:

JACKAL's BGM is my primary motivation. It can be made better, I'm trying to add a rhythm guitar, but I don't know much about chorus.Jedi QuestMaster wrote:I always liked the first level music of this game. It's nice seeing Jackal get this treatment.

I think everything is up to the copyright holder, KONAMI. I twittered them about this remake, but got no reply.

@Jedi
You are right. I should have clicked on his links before posting. I didn't realize he was doing a modern looking re-make. That's what I get for posting to fast.
@fanremade
It's really a port(I believe it uses the slick2D library). It's basically like you are playing the original game. So probably not much help.

That's great!!
Motherbrain has done some nice rendition of Jackal's themes.
Maybe you could use it as inspiration or even talk to him/her to use the already made songs.

@Fisher
That's some amazing work. I can provide an in-game option to let player choose which BGMs to use from two or more interpretations.
