The game looks outstanding and you are an amazing programmer!
[edit]
Okay I finally got a change to play the demo. Here are my notes and thoughts.
- On the title screen only the select button can scroll down the menu options and the buttons B and A do not function. This should most likely be changed. The up and down arrows should also scroll through the menu options and the B and A buttons should work the same as the start button for confirming things.
- Why not add a charge shot fireball as an additional weapon? A fireball that when charged (B button held down) for a few seconds that is more powerful and can go through several enemies before dissipating.
- When you die you go to a continue screen. Yes, is on the left and No is one the right, however if you press left or right on the D-pad it does nothing. So the left and right buttons probably should be implemented here instead of just using select to choose your option. Also B and A do not confirm your option, this should probably be implemented too.
- The first boss that you fight that looks like a stacked green ball cactus. If you beat the boss, but then get killed by the falling into the water the game freezes with a black screen.
- I love the intro level screens. Reminds me of the Sonic 1,2 games.
- Had no idea that pressing UP + B shoots the special item fireball. Maybe state this somewhere so players know.
- Music and graphics are outstanding.

Thanks, a lot !Erockbrox wrote:The game looks outstanding and you are an amazing programmer!
This was a long debate between me and my friend who made the musicErockbrox wrote:

But I agree with you, and it should be changed for the full version.
I don't think I'll change the game mechanics too much now. But thanks for the idea.Erockbrox wrote:

Weird, I'll check that.Erockbrox wrote:

I had some remarks about UP+B or DOWN+A, I may add a mini in-game tutorial to explain it clearly.Erockbrox wrote:

Re: Twin Dragons Kickstarter !
WOW. This is insane !
The campaign has been launched only 4 days ago, and we're now over 75% of our goal !
I would not have imagined it could go that fast.
Thanks to everyone who supported the project so far !

OK, so I know that I'm gonna sound like a broken record, but reaching our goal in 5 days is incredible, and I have to thank you one more time !
As soon as I'll get back home and get some sleep, I'll let you know about the next step, because we do have surprises for you to go even further.
Once again, THANKS to all of you !

That's awesome! That didn't take long, congrats.
Re: Twin Dragons Kickstarter !
Curious as to the relative scale of the intended final product compared to what's already created, since I didn't see it already.
It's an odd feeling, hearing a language and understanding it after a while of nonexposure.

Re: Twin Dragons Kickstarter !
Oh ok !
Here's what the FAQ says about it : "Nothing is set in stone yet, but for now we'd like the game to have 7 worlds with 2 levels per worlds (so 14 levels total), and 1 boss per world. Because the DEMO had some constraints due to the NESdev competition, levels were quite short. Therefore they should be longer in the final version of the game."

Re: Twin Dragons Kickstarter !
Congratulations on the funding, and luck to the stretch goals. I wish my financial institution was more friendly to the payment setup of non US kickstarter projects, I hope I'll be able to back this.
