I've more or less finished my indie game Ghost in the Machine, and it's up for vote on Steam Greenlight. I'd really appreciate support from you guys if you think you'd enjoy the game.

Also yes, it supports Linux (mac support will come once I iron out issues with Allegro being stable on the mac).

I'm curious what tools/libs/language you used, mind sharing?

I'll upvote it once I remember my Steam login information. Good luck with the Greenlight!

It's written in C++ using the Allegro library. The engine and level editor are custom created.

I would love to work on games for a living, but my last 2 attempts failed. It seems more like winning the lottery if your game is successful, regardless of how fun it is.
I have since given up and moved back into back-end systems development and testing and am doing quite well for myself again.
It just seems like a ton of work with very little return, other than the fact that you get to work on games.

The game was finally accepted onto Greenlight. I'm working on a few more features ( a better level editor and a package manager of sorts for level sets ) and cleaning up a few things while bank paperwork is being finished. I'm really glad I am able to release it on Steam as I originally planned.
I do agree with you drk421, though, as it did feel entirely like a lottery and I had all but given up when the game passed one day on Greenlight.
