Do SMS games look different on an actual SMS?Great Hierophant wrote:That is a reasonable representation of what the eye will see on a Genesis in SMS mode with an NTSC CRT.
I've never owned one, so I've only played them through Genesis (Model 1) and emulation.

Re: Anyone Interested in a Combined NES + Gameboy Cart?
I imagine that buying this with the Game Link connector option would be cheaper than buying an EverDrive GB, a Super Game Boy 2 (only the rare SGB 2 has Game Link), and an EverDrive N8. Some of us are already set ;) I don't think I would play GB ROMs on an NES much, but it would be a good excuse to...

Re: How did Final Fantasy VI do a non-fixed-width font?
The Secret of Mana VWF hack contains references to Final Fantasy VII , so if it's supposed to be a retranslation, it's not a very faithful one. That's too bad. I tried replaying the game a couple years ago (hadn't played it since I was a kid), and that game could seriously use a proper re-translati...

Re: How did Final Fantasy VI do a non-fixed-width font?
Is that actually a retranslation? Or did they invent the extra dialogue themselves? http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/18/ http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/snes/patches/18readme.txt You can decide for yourself... Hmm...it doesn't look like it says. "Text has been rewritten" could mean either ...

Re: Designing the most boring, most generic NES game imagina
I don't think anyone (commercial or otherwise) ever thought "I'm gonna make a mediocre game" when starting a project, and yet, we have tons of that. What you really need is a good idea for a game, or maybe even an amazing, overambitious idea for a game, and then have some big-wig publishe...
