Identify CPU architecture for old EPROM that I dumped

Hello. I found a 32k EPROM in in a box of junk. I have no idea where the EPROM came from. I built a circuit using an Arduino Nano and 4x 4-bit binary counters (to set the address bits) and dumped the EPROM. I'm certain that it does not contain 6502 instructions, as the top-most addresses do not cont...

Re: nestest.nes vs nes_intr_test (sbc behavior)

I've replaced my implementation of "op_sbc(data)" with "op_adc(data ^ 0xff)" and now both test suites pass.

nestest.nes vs nes_intr_test (sbc behavior)

Hello, My 6502 CPU core 100% passes all of the CPU opcode test from kevtris' nestest.nes [1], but fails all sbc opcode tests (and others) in blargg's nes_instr_test (nes_instr_test/rom_singles/03-zero_page.nes) [2]. Both test suites pass on FCEUX (v2.2.3 under wine on Linux). I obtained nestest.nes ...

Emulator failing ppu_vbl_nmi test #2

Hello. My emulator currently passes blargg's CPU opcode test, but fails some of the "ppu_vbl_nmi.nes" tests. Test #2 documentation (from the source): ; Verifies time VBL flag is set. ; ; Reads $2002 twice and prints VBL flags from ; them. Test is run one PPU clock later each time, ; around the time ...

Re: Can you write windows app in regular C++?

Minor example: Many years ago I wrote a MAP editor and save state editor for the NES game "Faria" in C++ on Win32. No MFC or anything funky. Just straight up Win32 + C++. It is on github: https://github.com/dennisjenkins75/FariaRomEditor If I were to do the project over again now, I would use C++ / ...

Request analysis of my glitchy PPU implementation

Hello. I am writing a NES emulator as a C++ library (with no dependencies) to be used as a component in a different project. I've written a Gtk "host" binary to test the emulator. I pass all of the "nestest.nes" CPU tests, plus dozens of my own CPU and PPU unit tests. My PPU implementation is glitch...

I saw this in my RSS feed the other day. Awesome. I thought that you guys might enjoy this. Parts of it are over my head. Tepples would understand it.
