Brand new NukeYKT's low-level Yamaha FM-chips emulators
Hi guys. I have important info, i guess it will be useful for retro-community. NukeYKT (https://github.com/nukeykt) has made ultra low level (transistor-level) emulators based on real chips die-shots, including: https://github.com/nukeykt/YM3812-LLE (OPL2) https://github.com/nukeykt/YMF262-LLE (OPL3...

Re: CPU - PPU clock alignment
Interesting finding. I found a new game (Kyouryuu Sentai Zyuranger) that randomly [hangs/work correct] between cutscenes and doorway transitions on Nestopia and MyNES, despite the fact that both of these cycle-accurate emulators have constant CPU/PPU alignment. Moreover, both of them have similar bu...

Re: Tests for ACE speedruns that rely on PPU's internal open bus
The "slowest" line may have a different line length (number of values) depending on reset. The "fastest" line changes it's values depending on the duration of the test (PPU warm-up) !! The freezes at the beginning of the some videos was caused by the late activation of virtualdub...

Re: PAL color palette emulation
Fresh measurements of voltage levels. RP2C02E/G, RP2C07-0, UA6528/6538 Info from HardWareMan Please add these tables to the NesdevWiki: https://www.nesdev.org/wiki/NTSC_video https://www.nesdev.org/wiki/PAL_video I guess RP2C07-0 and UA6538 info are necessary for wiki RP2C07-0 and UA6538 have slight...

Re: CPU - PPU clock alignment
My research continues after a long break. The most mysterious glitch occurs in the Ninja Ryukenden (Japan) I used many different PCBs, flash-carts and chipsets (UMC UA6527P/6538, TA-03NP1/TA-02NP, 1818P and UM6561) for this test. I am not sure if this behavior is related to alignment or has other re...

Re: Overriding CPU divider from 16 to 15
My position is fundamentally different. Famiclones were based on many different chips from different manufacturers. If you try to count all revisions there were several dozen of these chips (separated CPU/PPU, single-crystal CPU/PPU with external RAM, fully NoACs). And almost each of them had its ow...

Re: CPU - PPU clock alignment
After huge testings i can say that flashcartridge type affects alignments. I have one console (look at "JuniorRemake PCB") which fails boatduel almost every time if EDN8 is used. And vice-versa: boatduel run almost every time if Faminvite is used here. Really strange story. Need to test al...

Re: CPU - PPU clock alignment
Researches of Dendy/Famiclone PAL hardware: - Eliminator Boat Duel (USA) hangs on depending of reset. - Star Wars JVC (USA) does same, but rare - Ninja Ryukenden 1 (Japan) works on hardware, but must "blackout" during 1'st cutscene. This game crash on most-of cycle accurate emulators. - Vi...

Re: Stop byuu/near
I once again, very carefully re-read the byuu/near mails to kiwifarms admin. This is a borderline state with increasing affect. In such cases, you have to ring all the bells, but what happened can't be undone. The few online friends have wanted to do something, but they couldn't. Even if Null had re...

Eugene, what are you linking to? That kiwi farms webpage is a troll forum with users hoping that "niggers and faggots" will live-stream their suicides. Please remove the link, or at least add a description and warning what you are linking to and why. Thank you, added warning. I have never...
