Welp, I have a server that I barely use and will gladly host it for free. If anyone's interested or wants details, PM me.

What's your definition of "expensive"? If you look on eBay, the cheapest you could find is CAD $10 including shipping. Don't rely on major online retailers to sell floppy disks, because no normal store does. It's like trying to find a pack of FORTRAN punch cards.

If only the server wasn't so written poorly, consuming a lot of bandwidth, RAM, CPU, read/writes to hard disk, etc.

And not being written in Java.

As you wanted, here are some quirks: The first time playing it I was actually really confused as to what to do, and the readme helped slightly. I think you should put out a tad bit more instructions, especially in the game. The collision detection is a bit weird at times, e.g. getting stuck on corne...

Hmm, I can't seem to run it under any emulator. In ZSNES it displays garbage and in bsnes it displays a black screen. Am I missing something?

I noticed that after the music starts playing, if you leave at a specific point, you can hear some "static" noise. Is this accidental or intentional?

In regards to hardware, I don't think it will be such an easy task. The system itself consists of two parts: the CPU with the APU, and the PPU. While the 6502 CPU can be easily and cheaply bought as they are manufacture and sold to this day , however good luck getting a non-emulated way to produce s...

Would you please spell properly dammit!

Er, you might want to start with the Nerdy Nights tutorial. However, I must warn you, if you think that placing a sprite is as easy as "PutSprite(sprite.png,x-coordinate,y-coordinate)"... you will be mistaken. Sadly, I have not found any better tutorials, as they're either written by newbies a la Gb...

There's a handful of Pokemon pirates on the NES, all of them are from China or somewhere around that, and they all suck, e.g.: Pokemon Gold and Red by Waixing, Pokemon Yellow and a handful of other colors by Shenzhen Nanjing, and probably more obscure pirates.

In regards to the crashing, this is what I had before in the beginning of my code: .enum $0001 Frames .dsb 1 SecondsOnes .dsb 1 SecondsTens .dsb 1 MinutesOnes .dsb 1 MinutesTens .dsb 1 NUMBERS_BASE .dsb 1 .ende For some reason, on the first second (where SecondsOnes is set to 1) it goes fine, but on...

Assuming that before that you wrote to $20 and $00 to $2006 and then you wrote the loop, after that you could write $21 and $00 to $2006 and repeat the loop, e.g.: lda #$20 ;Here we're writing to $2000 sta $2006 lda #$00 sta $2006 ldx #$00 loop1: lda titlescreengfx,x sta $2007 inx cpx #$00 bne loop1...

A Couple of Questions

OK, so I've been working on a small demo and putting code in the NMI, and I've noticed that anytime when I want to access a variable at an even location (e.g. $00, $02, etc.), it throws me a CPU Jam in Nestopia and Nintendulator, yet if my addresses are odd, it works OK. Is there any reason why it d...

Who would make a commerical NES game that contained [...] RAM sticks? Well, what if I need to have more memory for some reason? If I could, I would be able to buy a pack of cheap RAM sticks for $10 and stick one in the cart. Mask ROMs are significantly cheaper compared to either of those. There are...
