Re: Opinion on this Schematic

. For the life of me I can't figure out why Atari didn't just use the SMS pinout for the 2 button 7800 controller. Seems like a lot of trouble just to make sure both buttons fire in 2600 mode. I know Atari 2600, C64 and SMS are all basically the same. I'm not sure what other systems used the same st...

Re: Opinion on this Schematic

The switch is unimportant. What ever works. I would also like to point out that I would like to keep SMS mode compatible with other machines that use identical 9 pin connectors.

Re: Opinion on this Schematic

Yeah, I figure with the resistor there it's not shorting out, so hopefully that will be safe.

Re: Opinion on this Schematic

Oh ok. I didn't know if Pin 5 being tied to ground via R1 was a problem in SMS mode because the pin is unused.

Re: Opinion on this Schematic

That's what I was wondering about. If I could leave the resistors in place since they aren't a problem in 2600 mode. I guess not. I'll think about it and see if I can use a different switch since pin 8 needs to lose the resistors in SMS mode. Sorry, Easyeda is limited and I couldn't find the appropr...

Opinion on this Schematic

This was hastily made, and I might be doing it wrong, but would this schematic produce a joystick that could be switched from Atari 7800 mode to Sega Mastersystem mode with a DPDT switch? If not what would I change to make it work?

Re: Neo Geo to Atari 2600 Controller Adapter

Yes. The 7800 Buttons work a funky way or I might have made it compatible. I'm sure it will work fine for 2600 games though. On a side note the external power and ground are completely unnecessary. I added them on the off chance there is a special Neo Geo joystick that needs more power.

Neo Geo to Atari 2600 Controller Adapter

This is a pretty simple project. I hand wired a prototype and it works fine. It does require modding the Atari to bring Reset and Select to an external connector. For my prototype I just used TRS audio jacks for that. Once that's done it's connected to the adapter so that Start and Select on the con...

Question on Famicom Schematic

question.jpg
Am I correct in assuming the two configurations in red squares is interchangeable? Either one will work? I imagine it might say something about it on the schematic but I don't read Japanese.

Re: Is this the right RAM?

oooh. 5Pcs for $7. Nice. No I've got a project rattling around in my head. I'm thinking about trying to hand wire a custom NES. Since most of the parts are off the shelf I figured I could get the majority of them without murdering an NES.

Nevermind. This is a closer match I'm sure. And it's cheaper.

Re: Nes to Vs

I once did it the other way around. I converted Vs. Super Mario Bros to an NES ROM a while back. There wasn't much too it. Someone else had already written the color pallet correction code, I just had to apply it to the correct place in the ROM with a hex editor and do various steps to compile it in...

Right. I'm determining the demand. Me and a buddy are thinking about having some 3D printed.
