Re: Revisiting the quest for the most accurate NES palette:

That is a very good point, especially when you consider Rare and Sachen (as examples) being based in PAL territories (UK and Hong Kong respectively.)

Re: Getting a Disk System to work on a Playchoice 10

Have you tried to/needed to implement any of the PC10 hardware fixes? There is a flaw with some PC10 boards that requires a fix to implement some compatibility with games such as Mario 3. I'm at work, and we have youtube blocked, so I cannot see what model of PlayChoice you are running.

SNES emu with "Force NTSC/PAL"?

Without downloading all of them and blowing hours, does anyone know if there is one that has this option? I want to test if uCON64's region forcing works on a few PAL exclusive games I'm converting for myself.

Re: Sound inputs in the SNES cartridge port.

Have you ever found if the other adapters work with your mod? Perhaps I could offer to buy one for you to experiment on? :-)

Sorry to necro this thread, but is anyone still making these adapters? Looks like Aprilog has discontinued their version.

Re: SNES "Winter Gold FX" PAL -- can it be converted to NTSC

Only way, since its not playable on any flashcarts. I have a copy on the way to do this to. Also need to trade out CIC so it boots on my Super Famicom.

Wanted to make sure to say thanks for this! Since the NTSC proto may never see public release, I really appreciate having a compatible version to Futz with.

Re: SNES "Winter Gold FX" PAL -- can it be converted to NTSC

Just caught this post, and I am curious: could you make a patch of the conversion? Either IPS or something similar? I finally became a Super Nintendo owner this year, after putting it off literally since 1991, and games with enhancement chips are high on my priority list.

Was any progress made on this? The Google machine translation isn't very good, and this site seems to have some very detailed info regarding de-noising the Famicom circuit.

SkinnyV: I have given up on my carts. If you're willing, I could pay you to get mine functioning. I would hate to feel like I wasted money on buying them, and with as many games as are on them, I am cool spending a bit more to get them working.

I did that, and it did nothing to get this running. That only apparently works on the 150 in 1.

Re: What could make a pirate cart only work on clone?

Has anyone ever figured this out? I bought 2 copies, one for my brother and the other for myself, but I am at an impasse with how to get them running on genuine Nintendo systems. If anyone is interested, I can send the boards to you to hack on.

Re: What could make a pirate cart only work on clone?

Sorry to necrobump, but was this ever figured out? Couldn't you just add a voltage regulator to the Vcc line on the chip, and drop it down to 3.3v that way?

Re: Proof that pin #4 mod does not work

alright i've said it doesn't work a couple of times.. even before the code was dumped i tested and found it not to work... so now here is why the pin #4 to ground CIC fix doesn't work and locks the system turns out not all 3193A's are the same.. although they are labeled the same "some" don't work ...
