Re: YPbPr ouput mod for SNES consoles

This will be my final post in the thread because honestly I'm embarrassing myself by continuing. Oh OK, well, I thought you were doing that long time ago. attempts to generalize me as impossibly arrogant to correct. Not impossibly, nor specifically arrogance. It's that you're unwilling to accept an...

Re: YPbPr ouput mod for SNES consoles

This is getting ridiculous. I can't even bring myself to read these posts. It's getting beyond juvenile. I can't be the only one who feels this way......... Nightwolve, we ALL GET IT. YOu believe you're right and resorting to name calling and petty points isn't doing you any good. As a bystander in...

Re: YPbPr ouput mod for SNES consoles

Personifying my sentiments through a popular figure who may or may not be of the same ethnicity as myself strikes you as racist? If I call you Honey Badger since Honey Badger just doesn't give a s**t about video signals (it tweaks what it wants!) would it strike you as speciesist? (Or is that genus...

Re: YPbPr ouput mod for SNES consoles

Yeah, actually, about the same as what my EE friend 'thesteve' would say : S-Video is a type of Component and should perform close. It does depend on how the TV implemented it. If the TV mixes S-Video to Composite first, it will look like Composite. If the TV processes the Luma and Chroma separately...

Re: YPbPr ouput mod for SNES consoles

http://i.imgur.com/dMxyX9o.jpg Well now, lemme be the first to thank you for all of your contributions to this thread, and most especially this latest and very, very curious one right here... I think, however, it would strike some, myself included, as a little, oh, I dunno, racist, RACIST, RACIST!!...

Re: YPbPr ouput mod for SNES consoles

I have a specific question for the person who measured all the component values to map out the SNES video output circuitry (which BTW is a very good step to become more grounded in reality). Did you desolder the components before measuring, or just measure them as soldered in the circuit? ... Night...

Re: YPbPr ouput mod for SNES consoles

I briefly read some of the stuff above... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Preferred_number#E_series ...I'll leave that here. Are you seeing a problem with my answer ? I'll do a condensed version. A) Here's what the heckling heckler kept heckling me about, the concept of "preferred values:" http://en.w...

Re: YPbPr ouput mod for SNES consoles

Uh no? It's constructive criticism--something you don't appear to take too well. I take "constructive criticism" just fine, but not when it comes with the extra bonus of amazingly superior-than-thou arrogance, egomania, elitism, pompousness, etc. Not to mention the fact that most of your bullshit d...

Re: YPbPr ouput mod for SNES consoles

Hey, NightWolve. Long time, no speak. I played Celceta at E3 this year. It was pretty sweet. I might have to buy a Vita for that one. Anyway, if you're still hanging around Chicago we should meet up and chat about console video mods. Hiya Ste. Yeah, long time. Hey, I thought you were gonna help per...

Re: YPbPr ouput mod for SNES consoles

Alright, I neglected to respond to this earlier, but felt like doing so now. Sorry to get testy, but it's warranted. Hmmm maybe its possible the luma ouput is different per snes revision. Or maybe people are creating broken "amps" due to minimal understanding of video signals, termination or transis...

Official SNES-designed circuits for Luma, Chroma & Composite

Can I simply use a higher ohm resistor to try and bring that level down? Yeah, or if you have a 0-100 Ohm potentiometer, that would be good to attenuate the output resistance down after amplification to where the colors appear best to you. You could start at 15 Ohms if you got a pack of solid resis...

Re: YPbPr ouput mod for SNES consoles

So I finally picked up a decent CRT to test my SNES on. Real quick question though! I tapped the Y from Pin7 on the underside of the MoBo. But if I try to use composite I only get a green and yellow picture. Do I need to use a diode facing the Y jack on my mod to preserve composite? Hmmm. The only ...

Re: YPbPr ouput mod for SNES consoles

I just dont comprehend how those people got Component YPbPr out from their S-RGB chips... maybe they are using these external chip to transform the signals like you said. It seems that it is the case... Yeah, it's an external board like say the JROK, a circuit that takes RGB + Sync in and outputs Y...

Re: YPbPr ouput mod for SNES consoles

My chip says S-RGB. Its the 1Chip SNES model. Ive soldered the Luma from the S-Video pin at the Multi-AV out AND, just for test, from the Luma out on the chip too. The same result, "pink" screen. If i amplify the red and/or blue, doesnt it going to becamo even more red and/or blue? I dont think it ...
