Re: Mesen-S - SNES Emulator

Hmm, this is weird.
I did power up the game multiple times and each of them were different.
Sometimes barely any glitches and sometmes alot.
Maybe my first test was lucky then.

In that case I take back what I said and the issue is indeed for all regions of this game.

Re: Mesen-S - SNES Emulator

I'm using the latest dev build from Github and region is set to Auto.
If you have it set on NTSC only then the EU will glitch a bit as well.

Re: Mesen-S - SNES Emulator

Oddly enough this only happens to the US and JP version. EU version does not have this bug.

Re: Expanding MMC1 from 256kb to 512kb

Afaik, MMC1 can run 512KB just fine (SUROM and SXROM for example).
Both have 512KB PRG ROM and 8KB CHR RAM.

As long as tests prove it's working I don't see why it shouldn't be okay.

Re: Diagnosing an NES graphic problem

First of all, your connector has verdigris and should be replaced immediately (or cleaned properly, if that's possible).
Was it stored in a humid place? Either way, that's problem one.

Problem two, I am guessing the WRAM has a defect as well, at least according to the video garbage being produced.

Re: iNES Mapper 12 (MMC3A?)

True, but still mentioning this because any other MMC3 didn't work at all for me.
I'm not sure how AX5202P handles things.

Re: iNES Mapper 12 (MMC3A?)

Yes, I used the circuit on Dragon Ball 5 by Rex Soft and it works perfectly fine. Your issue is the AX5202P. The circuit can only be build on original MMC3A hardware. Why? All MMC3A's and non-Sharp MMC3B's will generate only a single IRQ when $C000 is $00. This is because this version of the MMC3 ge...

Re: iNES Mapper 12 (MMC3A?)

The hack uses MMC5 already. I guess mapper 12 wasn't good enough of a choice at all. Your ROM is outdated + not allowed to post ROMs at all. The screenshot looks like it was taken from an emulator. Aside from that, you may want to post pictures of your cart/work and double check if all connections a...

Re: Multicart doesn't work on famicom

Famicom does not have any CIC, so pressing reset won't fix the issue. My assumption is missing PPU /OE line from CHR ROM to FC connector as seen in many chinese bootlegs they just GND CHR /OE instead connecting it properly for whatever reason... Famiclones don't have a problem with this but real Fam...

Re: eeprom chips

I have been buying from China (Aliexpress) for years and never had any counterfeits or non working parts.
Sure, there may be one defective unit out of of hundred but overall I've been satisfied 99.9% of the time.
This is for EPROMs and Flash ICs btw.

Shrug, 3V IC. Why didn't they just use 39SF040 instead.
