Re: Why don't we have a SNES Game Jam?
Make some legit prizes. Like some $50 or $100 gift cards or something. Or give away an SD2SNES Pro flashcart.

Was there an NES expansion chip like SA-1
The SA-1 chip used in SNES games gave around a 3 times CPU boost which allowed for all sorts of cool games. My question is, did the NES ever have something similar to the SA-1 chip? I know that there have been many NES enhancement chips, but have any of them been just an NES CPU clocked at a higher?...

Animated Optical Illusions
I stumbled upon this awesome youtube video where they made animated optical illusions by dragging a black bar transparency over a specially created image. Here is the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJpMZ0R89kU I wondered to myself............... this is animation without being real animation...

Re: Tapetorm Puzzle Disco (Kickstaretr Live Now)
In the game Go Go Mile Smile shown here in the youtube video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDLz-kdfYJA The mechanic is reduced down to one button. You extend your worm with the d-pad and 1 press of the button will rapidly retract your worm all the way. Maybe you could make the A button retract th...

Re: SuperRT - realtime raytracing expansion chip
Here are my thoughts: 1) This is amazing. It is not everyday that the SNES gets a new expansion chip like this. 2) It would be great to see if the DE-10 nano could apply this expansion chip to run with the SNES core on the Mister FPGA project. 3) It would also be great to see if this new expansion c...

Re: Tapetorm Puzzle Disco
Okay I played in browser demo. I've always found it strange when you control the NES controller with the D-pad typically in the left hand and button in the right hand but in a browser based game its reversed so that right hand is D-pad and left hand does the buttons. Anyway, its a fun game with lots...

Re: Force Bot - A brand new game for the NES [homebrew]
That's a good idea. I might be able to make like an outline of a brick and put a few on the title screen as a simplistic background. I'll think about it. The flames were considered at one point but I thought it looked better without them.

Re: Force Bot - A brand new game for the NES [homebrew]
yes the mouth is right on the boundary of the light and shaded part of his head. I don't know if there will be any changes to this. I could remove the shading but then that might look strange too. The original title screen looked like this, but it was too complicated to insert. https://i.imgur.com/l...

Re: Force Bot - A brand new game for the NES [homebrew]
So far these are the colors that I'm planning on having for the full and final game. https://i.imgur.com/CmNVot1.jpg The plan is to have around 200 levels. I'm currently at around 150 levels done, so that means I only have around 50 more levels to make and then this aspect of the game is more of les...

Re: NESTUDIO - PCM Sample Based Drum Machine
Seems like it would be cool to have a program that you can intern generate actual NES music with. Like make music on the NES for the NES.

NES Lizard Tool
So I just downloaded the NES Lizard Tool where you can make your own NES game based off of the Lizard engine. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NBNnjRbM9SI I sat down and thought about what I would make. Then this idea came to my mind. My lizard is the lizard of metal. https://i.imgur.com/KvSGGNQ.jpg ...

Me streaming some NESmaker games
Since the whole world is being shut down I tried to be a streamer. LOL Here I am playing an NES game called "1000 Stars". It's a game from the NESmaker byte off competition. I just was streaming off my iphone but if I get enough interest I may buy a legit streaming setup. https://www.twitch.tv/video...
