Re: have you ever used recursion on the NES?

Some notes accompanying the leaked prototype and the efforts to make a commented disassembly claim it's done recursively: MISC#9. The power generated by all power stations equals (COAL*700)+(NUCLEAR*2000) points. This power "distributed" between every single powerable tiles including the Powers stat...

Wikia links broken

Inter-wiki links like this one:

Code: Select all

[[wikia:c:bootleggames:American Video Entertainment|American Video Entertainment]]
at https://wiki.nesdev.com/w/index.php/NINA-003-006

Are broken since Wikia is re-branding itself

So yeah, just a heads up I guess you need to update a DB record.

Re: Was Color A Dinosaur written in C? (No wait, it's Norton

Well, I'm not gonna be the one to go to Ebay and play repro-roulette at $100 a cart to get a verified dump. NesCartDB already has a verified CRC32, and it matches that of a ROM I just downloaded that has all the Norton stuff intact. I think bad dump can be ruled out. Woops, I didn't even notice Boo...

Re: Was Color A Dinosaur written in C? (No wait, it's Norton

To be clear, I think the previous suggestions are most likely. I just think the bad dump scenario shouldn't be overlooked, as it's possible for e.g. badly written DOS dumping drivers from 1997 to copy random chunks of memory to the output. One thing that I think could help is a CDL from a complete p...

Re: Anybody know a good gameboy modder?

You might try the chiptune communities, like "ChipWin" on Facebook. Since there's so many musicians using LSDJ on Gameboy, there's still an active modding scene around it.

Re: Was Color A Dinosaur written in C? (No wait, it's Norton

I thought this was a joke entry (like "Uncyclopedia" does) when I saw it recently, but that seemed out of character for TCRF. Then I opened my hex editor and had a good laugh. Wow, it's real. I wonder if, for similar reasons to those stated above, this could be an artifact of the dumping process (ra...

Re: Cost of decapping chips

This is something I've come to care about in the past year as I've gotten more interested in hardware. I did some research into the Dr Decapitator saga previously and found some Reddit threads about it. Here, byuu thinks this kind of work runs in the 5-figures and up: https://www.reddit.com/r/emulat...
