Re: Untitled bubble game

Loved it! Unique (and fun!) mechanic, and it looks and sounds fantastic. Great level design too, I had a lot of fun exploring the world. It was longer than I thought it would be, it ended up taking me 50 minutes to complete it. And I still didn't find all the duckies, so I'll have to give it another...

Re: Nalleland

Awesome to see another release of this, it's really fun. My best run so far has been 1:09.50. I recorded myself looking for glitches, the stuff I thought was notable is listed in the description hopefully some of it is useful, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ofk_nGKNmQ Thanks for breaking my game ...

Nalleland

This game does have a thread on these forums already (with a pretty outdated version now) and I was even asked last year if the game could be included on the multicart (in vol. 4). But I figured I might as well submit it to the compo too — competitions are fun, after all. Nalleland is a platformer a...

Click artifacts on noise channel

I'm having some issues trying to play a constant mode 0 noise sound. There's a kind of clicking artifact at regular intervals (see attachment). It's most noticeable with high frequencies (small $400e values). I'm just writing the same value to $400e every frame, length counter and envelope is disabl...

Re: Need help with ld65 compiler

I can see a number of issues with your config file. First of all, VECTORS and and SAMPLES are in the wrong order in SEGMENTS (the order there defines the order in which they are written to the .nes file), you need to swap their positions. Also, your DMC and VECTOR memory areas starts at $7f00, but t...

You guys all better show up at RSM this year!
Retrospelsmässan? Can't go on the 4th (Saturday), but maybe I'll attend on Sunday. It could be fun!

Re: Nalleland

... Thanks! You're not the first to be a bit confused about backgrounds/solids (though I've only really seen the first screen and the top-left one with the background pillars causing troubles before). Everyone seems to get it pretty quickly, so I guess it's not a huge issue, but I might try to do s...

Re: Nalleland

I love the platforming and the hidden areas. Speedrunning it is quite a bit of fun too! My current any% is 00:00:56:32 https://i.imgur.com/XyJMTvF.jpg I loaded and ran on hardware using the Powerpak from RetroUSB and it seems to run fine. I like how time stops for a moment when you jump on an enemy...

Re: Nalleland

I really like the mechanics in this, definitely fun to run around and use the pin, very unique. I hope you continue and create a full game out of it. A couple things I noticed, first I tried it on Everdrive and it did not work, only gave me a gray screen, so I guess it's some sort of mapper issue? ...

Re: Nalleland

I like the pin idea, that's fun and creative, and works nicely. Nice job! I'm looking forward to playing more as you get further along. My one piece of advice would be to work on the room transitions -- updating the nametable while scrolling into the next room looks a bit choppy. Maybe having a sli...

Nalleland

(This version is outdated. Please see the 2019 competition thread for the most recent version: http://forums.nesdev.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=19790 ) Nalleland is a colorful platformer about a bear with a magic sewing pin. You can throw your pin into walls and bounce on it to reach higher places; or ...

Re: How to keep game running while debugger is open i Mesen?

No this was exclusively a problem with my own homebrew rom. However, for some inexplicable reason, the problem stopped occurring after clearing/disabling auto-import of labels, and the enabling them again. I.... have no idea why, but problem solved I guess, so sorry for bothering y'all. Only reason ...
