Re: Micro Mages (on Kickstarter)

I'd say a Famicom version is not out of the question, but there probably won't be one anytime soon.

Re: Micro Mages (on Kickstarter)

The design of the videos and the kickstarter page itself is very slick! The FAQ claims that Rainworrior's Antoine's building the cartridges? Is he the only one who will build all the carts? Because currently it looks like the kickstarter can attract over 2000 supporters easily... Yes, we di...

Re: Micro Mages (on Kickstarter)

Thanks for all your feedback and sorry for the late response. We've been overwhelmed by the response the Kickstarter has been getting the last couple of days. I absolutely love your vide on storage management! I especially found it interesting how you use shifted symetric designs for your maps. It f...

Re: Micro Mages (on Kickstarter)

Thank you, Sumez!

Yes, we are lucky. Europe seems to be great for print and the artist has a lot of knowledge in that area, which allows us to offer a very reasonably priced CIB.

Indeed, all rewards are going to be shipped from Germany.

Micro Mages

The ROM and PC versions have been released at https://morphcatgames.itch.io/micromages UPDATE: Cartridges are available again at https://www.brokestudio.fr/en/front-page-en/ Hey, y'all! It's been a while. I teamed up with an artist and we've been working on a new game for the past 3-ish years. Well...

Re: Progress Thread - Guitar Girl

Shhh, I like "Gretchen Gitarre". Precisely because of how English speakers will pronounce it. I can't get it out of my head, it just has a nice ring to it IMO, which is all that matters. But maybe that's just me. I guess you'll find yourself right along the lines of other Faux-German named games, wh...

Re: anyone up for a challenge? well... not much of a challen

Aw, missed it. :(
If this kind of thing was announced with some preparation time, I'm sure there would be some people giving it a shot. Weekend games are a fun exercise.

Awesome!!
I didn't get around to trying it, yet, but I've added a note to my original post so people will not miss it.

Re: ppunroll - optimize PPU writes

Heh, I didn't even consider bit shifts. Some interesting contributions in that thread. It would be nice to have a tool that generates a perfect sequence of instructions or comes very close at least, but it seems to be quite a challenge indeed. I feel I'm not good enough of a programmer to pull that ...

ppunroll - optimize PPU writes

Hey there, today I'll share a little command line tool, probably most useful if your project uses CHR RAM. It does this: ;data.chr 00 00 00 00 BB BB BC 00 C:\>ppunroll data.chr ldx #$00 stx $2007 ;00 stx $2007 ;00 stx $2007 ;00 stx $2007 ;00 ldy #$BB sty $2007 ;BB sty $2007 ;BB iny sty $2007 ;BC stx...

Re: Implementing Original Music for Nintendo & Sega Game Dev

Ah, it was probably Shiru's plugin then, sorry! All I know is there's a "TextExporter.dll" lying in a plugin folder somewhere. And the plugin system might be where I remember your name from, then. Some diving into the FamiTracker source had to be done.

Re: Implementing Original Music for Nintendo & Sega Game Dev

Gradualore's GGSound was used in Super Bat Puncher (which is an outstanding game with outstanding music) I'd be honored if this were true, and surprised I didn't know because I conversed fairly often with miau back when he was developing that. Haha! I'm amused I'm still referred to as Gradualore. I...
