This is coming up in 12 days. Anything people want to be said/shown will need to be presented to me. I don't know how much I can actually showcase as I really don't know how the full panel will go. At SGC, I mainly talked about my game and took questions, but that was just my game. I can't answer a ...

Magfest 9 - NES panel with VIDEOS

I've just copied and pasted this from another forum: Well, I was selected to do the panel. I'll be up there solo, since no one is attending that's currently doing a game. Anyway, I was planning to of course talk about my stuff, how I began simple and into more complex games. I was also thinking of t...

Just get James's permission to use his name and likeness first. That is important. Yeah, that would be the nice thing to do. I wonder if James gets permission from the companies who made the games he reviews on his show before using them... =) I would seriously doubt it. Besides, it's fair use. One...

I wanted to enter this thread. I myself have honestly thought of trying something with James, but the thing is, I already have ideas on what I'd do. Unless one could be a major contributor to the project, I would just rather do things my own way. Learning how to do a scrolling game is all I'd really...

I've been pondering the disappearing block routine again and think it'll become very complicated as the enemies are only updated once per frame and a dilemma can conceivably occur... If you had some blocks adjacent to each other and you were inside both, what would happen if you got ejected but then...

Well you are playing on an emulator. If you are playing on a HDTV you may have HD lag. This is something I've noticed on my TV as well. Even with the "Game" mode enabled on the TV settings, it's still happening... I see it on games like Punch Out Wii... I've seriously considered putting my 1994 CRT...

Well, I managed to get something utilizing that atan2 routine that was suggested. I already had angular bullets, so using the atan2 thing, I just applied the angle I got to the angular bullet routine and bingo. So thanks for suggesting that routine. It's bulky, but I have 256kb to work with. Heheheh...

Interesting approaches. I was thinking of making some kind of LUT that has values for the various angles in case I want an enemy that's shoot them in a pre-determined angle. I had this vision of a tri-gunner that'd shoot one in straight line and others at maybe 30 degrees or something. I don't think...

Aiming bullets and heavy computation...

Well, I DID accomplish aimed bullets in BK1, but the method was a little sloppy in order to avoid potential heavy computation. Here's what I did and these were spread across two states to avoid a HUGE amount of computation: -Take the center points of player and bullet, call them X1,Y1 and X2,Y2 -X2-...

I have a possible plan for the easy mode, but won't be revealing that yet. There may be some cases where it's NOT one hit. I THOUGHT that might be so. I original posted without the second sentence, since I remembered you posting about the pink armor shielding you from a hit at one point. But I chec...
