Re: Nintendo "Gigaleak"

The ROMs doesn't seemed to be saved in .NES format (not very surprising..) or come with proper filenames so I guess it'll require some detective-work to figure out what's what. EDIT: Files seems to be split in PRG and CHR's. Filenames seems to be related to developer and game-name (initials). Obviou...

Re: Nintendo "Gigaleak"

Sorry if I spoked ya'. :) Many people are probably not very happy about this kind of stuff. Myself I find it fascinating what people can dig up through these old sources. There are plenty of articles about what people have found..

Re: My first attempt at NES graphics

Slightly reminds me of one of my favourite NES games, "The Goonies II". :)
I think it looks promising. I however might not be a big fan of the brown areas (the walls/ground).
Keep it up. :)

Re: FamiStudio NES music editor

I just used it for testing, I think the NSF import is really cool, I didn't bother about possible sideffects. :) And yes that song is awesome. :) So I am back at square 0 again, FamiTone2 obviously doesn't support all features so there's no point in using that for my possible future NES-stuff. :( ED...

Re: FamiStudio NES music editor

I attach an NSF from "RcProAm", the titletrack sounds slightly strange in the beginning atleast when saved as FamiTone2 and playback using that code..
This is how it should sound:

Re: FamiStudio NES music editor

I suspect there might be something off with the FamiTone2 export-functionality? I've been in contact with the FamiTone2-guy and there doesn't seem to be any obvious problems with my code.

Re: FamiStudio NES music editor

Got it running, NMI was causing problems. But the music doesn't sound as it sounds in FamiStudio (or exported as a NES-ROM) so there's still something wrong. I attach a new example if anyone's interested.

Re: FamiStudio NES music editor

I found some FamiTone2 example I experimented with but I can't get it to play anything. I got the example code from https://shiru.untergrund.net/code.shtml and I stripped the example from just about everything but the music-code but I'm probably doing something wrong. I'm using ASM6. Anyone see anyt...

Re: FamiStudio NES music editor

I'm interested in a replayer that's easy to implement and use. :) As a former demo-coder (sort of anyway) on the Commodore Amiga platform and I'd like to try to code some stuff on the NES aswell. On the Amiga we just included a replayer and play our music but on the NES, well, things are a little bi...

Re: FamiStudio NES music editor

I have no knowledge of FamiTone2 whatsoever, but it didn't seem that straightforward to get it running (NESASM completely hated my attempts anyway..). You don't have a "FamiStudio" musicformat except for the XML-exports that's suitable for NES-binaries? You've never considered writing your own repla...

Re: FamiStudio NES music editor

I guess it's relevant to know which addresses the replayer needs aswell?

Re: FamiStudio NES music editor

Ok, so I can export to a FamiTone2 assembler file, which in fact is the song/pattern data. Then I'll need the replayer in my code I guess. How much RAM (and where) are used for playback?

Re: FamiStudio NES music editor

What's the "guidelines" for using music from FamiStudio in your own NES-productions (demos/games/whatever)? I was perhaps expecting some kind of music replayer sourcecode attached but it doesn't seem to be included? Does people use NSF's only or?

Boxes for Famicom cartridges

I've got a few Famicom cartridges and I am after some kind of boxes for them. I've checked out Universal Game Cases but I've read it doesn't fit them perfectly..? Anyone got any hints for me? It doesn't have to be box replicas or anything like that, just some kind of box with possibility to add a pr...
