Sorry, it is a NES. What 3Gen said reminded me of something though. I have a socketed CPU, as it used to be my copyNES console. Maybe something is up with that?

Weird Controller Issue

Something strange is going on with one of my consoles. After the console is "warmed up" a few minutes it quits reading controllers correctly. When you press the A button, it pushes A, Select, and Start (or maybe more, but I know for sure it presses those three). It is just the bare motherboard, but ...

I'm also a big fan of GraphicsGale. It is a little more pixel art friendly.

Would something like this interest you? Seems a bit steep, but if you are into recording it might be worth it for you.

Maaan,I alwazs wanted to compete in compo. From what I understand: 1.It already started(January 1st) 2.Everyone can enter at any time, except deadline(June 1st) 3.It can be any mapper,OR NROM(Depend what category you're in) No for questions: 1.Is there any sign in deadline? 2.If I sign my game in co...

For older homebrew stuff (and newer) NESWorld has a nice layout and a very comprehensive library. I'm sure once the entries for this contest are posted, they will end up on that site as well. As for utilities/tools/editors, there are so many out there it would be a PITA to keep the updated versions ...

Yeah, I didn't finish writing the description for that, but the main reason for that is mostly to allow folks to show off their stuff that might not qualify otherwise. Maybe a previously released ROM from 5 years ago that has minor bugfixes since then, maybe cross-platform development apps such as ...

I'm just going to throw this out there. How about June 1st for a deadline? I know it seems a ways away, but seeing as only a handful have started anything the original 6 month deadline would make sense. Also, if it is a yearly thing then it makes sense to move it to the middle of the year (instead o...

Since nobody has done it yet, I went ahead and made a website for the competition. If we decide to use another host that's fine, but I thought this competition needed a little initiative so I just did it. For the record, I am happy to host this and future contests on my server space. I have filled ...

How does "homebrewcomp.nintendoage.com" sound? Sounds kinda generic, or like a beer brewing competition. If it was called NESdev compo, it would be more obvious what it is. Assume there will be a lot of visitors who have never heard of nintendoage.com. Earlier on this thread I've said what my opini...

I can also help with website design/coding/hosting if needed but not too interested in polishing the rules. I think the website should/could be a single page with logo on top and rules and submission form (or e-mail address). Doesn't need to be anything fancy. Ssuggestion: since I suck at making ru...

I would be happy to provide an account on membler-industries.com for hosting the compo, if it helps. Unless Dain still wants to, whatever works. I've sent Dain a message. We'll see what he says. If it doesn't work out I'll let you know. Also, if we could hash out the competition details that would ...

I'm working on one based on http://sivak.nintendoage.com I just like it because it is simple. We don't have to use it, (and I hope Sivak doesn't mind) but I might as well give it a shot since I have some time today. Edit: Seems I no longer have a place to host files. Jeroen, did Dain set you up with...
