Re: Introducing the VeriSNES (FPGA-based SNES)

From Analogue Twitter: https://twitter.com/analogue_co/status/954366331138093057 For all analog AV lovers: we've been working on something you'll like. 100% work in progress at this time, but coming together right so far. Designed for Super Nt and future Analogue systems. A digital to analog convert...

Re: Introducing the VeriSNES (FPGA-based SNES)

@jwdonal Are you alive? @idc I (and thousands like me) want S-Video and RGB like the original for authentic experience on a CRT,,, which the Super Nt doesn't deliver. I don't care for HDMI, I have emulators with 99.99% compatibility that look and play just as good. You kind of missed out because An...

Re: BS-X Satellaview Datapak's

According to patent JP3734532B2 Here is the full Time Channel format (including header AND using official terms): Offset - Size (in bytes) - Description 0x00 - 1 - Data Group ID 1 (upper 4 bits) / Data Group Repetition (lower 4 bits) 0x01 - 1 - Data Group Link (bit7) / Data Group Continuity 0x02 - 3...

Re: SNES Wiki is down again!!!

Okay, fine, there are issues, don't make it personal either.

I've let him know. I do think the current backend is better though.

Re: SNES Wiki is down again!!!

Wiki is working now. "Working" in a loose sense. The recent(?) change to different software broke a ton of internal links. The wiki is superficially nicer, but content-wise, it's a shadow of its former self. Actually every single page are still there. The links may not work, but they're searchable....

Re: BS-X Satellaview Datapak's

Is this the correct address? All mempak images I checked just now had the byte 00 at 7FB2/FFB2h. Commercial games seem to have the first character of the release code (e.x. ZBSJ) at that address. It is. Satellaview Content does not use the header the same way as commercial cartridge games. Nice fin...

Re: BS-X Satellaview Datapak's

One mention about the header of Memory Pack contents: Assuming 32-bit little endian: FFB2h 4 Program Type - 0x???????? = 65C816 - 0x00000100 = BS-X Script Tokens - 0x00000200 = SA-1 (Itoi Bass Fishing No. 1) Shigesato Itoi's Bass Fishing No. 1 literally just boots the content. If you can rewrite the...

Re: BS-X Satellaview Datapak's

Radio ON: Clear bit7 of $2197 Radio OFF: Set bit7 of $2197 Thanks, good to know! I had only figured out that it was somehow related to powerdown and/or soundlink. So it seems to be simply soundlink related (assuming that the "radio" is the same as the "soundlink" feature). I actually didn't say it ...

I must say, the Argonaut SNES Linker rewrite may not be accurate, I tried the best I could. At least it produces working ROMs. :D

Re: BS-X Satellaview Datapak's

This register bit might enable/disable the two transistors in the audio-amp section of the receiver unit (if this has not already been discovered) to disable the sound going into the SNES. I will verify. Considering you can write also to every other bit and returns them just fine, I don't know what...

Re: BS-X Satellaview Datapak's

Double posting, just to give an update about Satellaview register $2197. Since we got a new dump, which is Wario's Woods Event Version 2, something was up. You could set the radio ON or OFF. The kind of stuff that's very explicit how it is done. Radio ON: Clear bit7 of $2197 Radio OFF: Set bit7 of $...

Also, as a reminder, japanese Satellaview patents describes the process of the whole thing very very well. http://i.imgur.com/2Tfk73i.png More translated pictures here: http://imgur.com/a/Nq35L They're from this patent: https://astamuse.com/ja/published/JP/No/1995007481 I also have a list of patents...

Re: BS-X Satellaview Datapak's

Data Receiver Speed: 668 kbps MCC (Memory Map Controller and Security Chip) [Yes, I swear, that's the actual name] That 668kbps doesn't match too well to 18.432MHz though. But maybe it's meant to be 668kbps "excluding packet headers" (or "excluding error correction info", if there's been such a thi...
